Peter Sanderson will head our new aluminium boat building division – Moda Marine.

Managing Director Gillian Summers said Peter’s skills and experience are perfect for the new general manager role after Brain acquired and relocated the business from Queensland this year. Moda has already new orders and has begun building aluminium boats at its Carrington engineering workshop.

Gillian said Moda Marine will initially focus on the design and building of high-end aluminium leisure and fishing boats as well as catamarans and mono hulls. It will also maintain, repair and service all boats and vessels.

“Brain has specific marine sector, with a number of staff having worked for Forgacs in Newcastle as well as with other boat vessel manufacturers,” Gillian said.

“Moda Marine is a well known brand. Brain’s rigorous focus on research and development, design and quality will offer customers an even better boating experience,” she said.

“In making gun, next level Moda boats, we borrow from the world of extreme boating while maintaining opulence and performance.”

“Changes in the resources sector and COVID-19 impacts highlights the importance of diversified Australian manufacturing.”

She said Brain Industries has proven manufacturing know how, winning the Small Manufacturer of the Year Award in the 2021 Hunter Manufacturing Awards.
