Brain Industries has renewed its support for the 2022 Hunter Manufacturing Awards (HMA).
Managing Director of the Newcastle-based industrial equipment manufacturer Gillian Summers is encouraging other Hunter, Central Coast and mid North Coast manufacturers and their suppliers to do the same.
Gillian said, like many other sectors, many in the local manufacturing sector had done it tough during COVID-19. But she said a silver lining of the pandemic has been greater government and community awareness of manufacturing’s importance.
“A strong manufacturing sectors helps our economy and businesses to be less vulnerable to external shocks,” Gillian said.
“It helps maintain crucial supply chains and delivers skilled jobs,” she said.
“Manufacturing is key to our future.”
“We have a strong and competitive local manufacturing sector that can also help our regions and their workers to transition away from coal to cleaner emissions technology.”
She said the HMA Awards help manufacturers to celebrate and share their achievements.
“The Hunter Manufacturing Awards’ mission is to inspire vibrant and enduring manufacturing. That’s a cause worth supporting.”
“Through the HMA Awards, manufacturers can network and support each other to grow local manufacturing.”
Brain Industries won the Small Manufacturer of the Year Award in 2021 and was highly commended for the same award in 2020. It has been a supporter of the Wards for more than three years.
